I took art throughout high school, and used it as an outlet without even realizing it. In college, I soon missed having that outlet, and looked into taking a painting class. Long story short, I ended up with a minor in Visual Arts from Oregon State University, and haven’t been able to stop doing art since.
My first paint affair was with acrylic. It still holds a special place in my heart, but when I stumbled upon India ink, I fell in love. As much as I love bold colors, there is something especially captivating about the drama of black and white. The dynamic range of values and the way it interacts with the paper have me totally enthralled.  When I discovered that India ink comes in a wide range of colors as well, that was a game changer.  Now I can add splashes of color to monochrome pieces; what more could I ask for?
I enjoy painting real life subjects, particularly animals. The challenge of capturing their personalities and beauty is something I really delight in. On the other hand, I also adore doing abstract work. The ability to unapologetically smear, splatter and brush my emotions across the page is so freeing. I delight in seeing how my work can evoke emotions in others as well. At the end of the day, we all have sorrow, frustration, and joy. That shared experience and those feelings of happiness are what I love about sharing my art with the world.

In the spring of 2025 I spent months transforming my garage into a creative space to teach painting classes in. IT is a dynamic space that can shift and grow to share art in many different forms. It is a space where I share art with the community so you can experience all the amazing benefits art can have in your life while building community. It’s where art happens.

Acrylic Paint Parties- I create custom paintings that I teach in a fun step by step way that gives you painting skills and confidence. I hold paint nights you can sign up for, often themed/holiday specific, or you can schedule a private paint party for you and a group. I have a handful of paintings to choose from, or I can create a painting specifically for your group to learn (Group minimum of 3, maximum of 15). Perfect for birthdays, book clubs, girls night, parent-child activity, co-workers etc. I provide all the materials needed to paint a masterpiece, and you don’t have to clean up!

Abstract Watercolor Class- I designed my “Shapes in Chaos” class to be therapeutic and approachable to people at all skill levels. There are so many mental health benefits that come from creating art, but it can often be intimidating. In my “Shapes in Chaos” class, you will use the watercolor techniques I teach to clear your mind and paint a unique masterpiece. No two are the same and no one is wrong. (Group min 2).

Bring Your Dog to Paint- Along with my Art minor, I also got a minor in Animal Science. So, it only makes sense that I came up with a way to get the pets involved. Enter the “Paw-Casso Paint Party”. You bring your dog, I supply the paint and matboard for THEM to paint a paws-itively adorable piece of art. I do this as a fun seasonal (summer, Halloween, Christmas) event, complete with snacks for you and your dog, a photo backdrop for holiday card worthy photos, and a cute doggy bandana.

I have so many more ideas, including wreath making, painting clay magnets and ornaments, DIY pet portraits and lots more. Subscribe below so that you know when I add events to my website!
